Slow down, you move too fast.
You got to make the morning last.
Just kicking down the cobble stones.
Looking for fun and feelin' groovy.
Hello lamppost,What cha knowing?
I've come to watch your flowers growing.
Ain't cha got no rhymes for me?
Doot-in' doo-doo,Feelin' groovy.
Got no deeds to do,No promises to keep.
I'm dappled and drowsy and ready to sleep.
Let the morning time drop all its petals on me.
Life, I love you,All is groovy.
Well, I wont be skipping down any cobblestones today - Im at the ski house in Vermont, snowed in - S took the truck to the mountain to ski with L and D - and Im here holding down the fort.
I sometimes - well often - feel antsy when here all day while they ski - but not today..
I woke to a fresh coating of snow and big fluffy flakes falling from the winter white sky..It made me feel like a kid on a snow day..
Like Paul Simon says "got no deeds to do" - its true - the only thing I need to accomplish today is relaxation.
Sitting here on the sofa under a blanket, the trees appear to be coated in frosting, like giant pine tree cakes. The scene outside the window reminds me of a postcard, "Winter at Stratton Mountain". There is a certain peace that comes from being forced to stay put, forced to slow down, have a second cookie maybe.
My life is hectic, at times - downright nuts..We are getting the house ready to enter the market now that interest rates are rock bottom. Things will be even more intense - so this day is a bit of a blessing. I figured I would take advantage and recharge my battery, my mind, my spirit. Sound too new age? I don't think so, my Mom is always telling me to take care of myself - so today, I will. Ill stay under the blanket for a while, drinking coffee, maybe I will have a cookie for breakfast. I might even go out and play in the snow, channel that little girl inside of me who used to love to go sledding on cold snowy snow days.
Life I love you, all is groovy..
Why don't you do the same? Slow, and make that moment last..
