BFP Part Three..

She chatted to herself during the drive home. She was trying to convince herself that there was no way she could be pregnant and played the conversation with the doctor over and over in her head explaining to them why a baby was out of the question. Arriving home, she found an empty house; he was out of town until the next day. She decided that was ideal, she didn’t want him to know what she was doing as she was convinced he would, again, dismiss her.

In the silent master bath, she read the directions; she wanted to make sure she knew what she was doing. “Okay, here we go” she muttered.

The directions told of waiting two minutes for the results, one line for not pregnant, two for pregnant. She hoisted the test up onto the sink counter and peeked. Not 30 seconds went by when two lines appeared clear as day in the tiny window. Positive. She was pregnant.

Immediately, she went into denial mode. “No way” she kept chanting in her mind, “Impossible” “Not now” What should have been the happiest moment of her life was turning into a terrifying lonely experience. Her marriage was on thin ice and she had no idea how a baby would fit in.

She continued in her denial. She went on for the next few days wondering if it was true and what it would mean to her and him.

Stay Tuned for part four.
