No, I am not talking about who I decided to vote for in the upcoming presidential election, I think you can figure that one out.
I am referring to the question regarding selling my house. S and I have decided to sit tight for a bit. The way the economy and housing market is right now, we thought it would be wise to take a "wait and see" approach. We were supposed to be putting the house on the market now, right now, probably today. But that is not happening. So we get to enjoy the updates, the new kitchen and smooshy carpet.
There are a few ways of looking at the housing market currently and whether it is wise to try to play the housing game right now. Some see an opportunity to sneak in - and possibly be able to buy a house for a reduced cost due to the low volume of buyers. Some (like me, more than S) are too scared right now. It seems like such a touchy time to be spending large sums of money on anything. What do you think? Take a chance - in sneaking in while everyone is scared? Or be one of those who are scared?
Our realtor referred us to a reporter for the Capital District Business Review who was interested in doing on a story on people who have changed their plans in light of the current economic situation. So S gave him an interview and we had our photo taken yesterday. Apparently, we are not alone in our situation. All summer we busted out as*es to get the house ready for the market - only to be faced with this crazy economy. But, as I said, at least we get to sit for a little while and enjoy all the work we have done. NO more marathon trips to Lowes - YAY!
